Türkiye has expressed strong disapproval of recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Syria, claiming that these actions violate the sovereign rights of Syria and pose a risk to the stability of the region. The Turkish Foreign Ministry has criticized the strikes, specifically those aimed at the areas of Quneitra and Daraa, as breaches of Syria’s territorial integrity and international law, as well as violations of the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
In a statement, Türkiye warned that such military actions could exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Syria, endanger civilian lives, and undermine ongoing efforts to stabilize the country. Turkish authorities have urged the international community to intervene, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to prevent further escalations that could heighten regional tensions.
Burhanettin Duran, Communications Director, also voiced criticism of the strikes, arguing that they threaten Syria’s security and hinder progress toward achieving long-term peace. The Turkish government has reiterated its commitment to supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, which it views as crucial components for ensuring regional security.
Türkiye continues to call on other nations to contribute to maintaining stability in the region, stressing the importance of collective action to avoid further conflicts. The country’s stance reflects its broader strategic interests in promoting peace and security within its neighboring territories.
