Alipov in India: Russia’s Nuclear Status Is the Reason It ‘Can’t Be Taken Over’

Speaking in India, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov stated that Russia “can’t be taken over” in the Ukraine war, identifying the nation’s nuclear status as the primary reason.
“Simply because of our nuclear weapons,” Alipov said, was the reason defeat is impossible, regardless of the advanced weapons systems supplied to Kyiv by the West.
He highlighted that this isn’t a new threat, but a long-standing part of Russia’s military doctrine, which allows for a nuclear response to an “existential threat.”
Based on this, Alipov ridiculed European hopes for a Ukrainian victory. He called this belief “childish behavior” and “unprofessional.”
He also drew a distinction between Europe and Donald Trump, claiming the former US president “understands that this war is lost by Ukraine and the West,” unlike the “belligerent” European nations.
