Hotel Okura is set to open its first Okura Resort in Japan: the Okura Resort Hakone Gora, scheduled for 2029.
The project is a partnership with Nishimatsu Construction and focuses on Hakone, a region known for its hot springs and natural appeal.
The 58-room resort features a “Forest Hideaway” design by Gwenael Nicolas.
Key Highlight: Every room includes a private open-air bath using natural hot spring water from Owakudani.
Amenities include indoor baths, saunas, a teppanyaki restaurant, and a bar lounge. President Toshihiro Ogita noted, “This is one of Japan’s most special destinations,” and the resort aims to deliver Okura’s signature hospitality there.
