ESET, EVC Group Collaborate on Cyber-Secure Battery Systems for Europe.

by admin477351

ESET and EVC Group have forged a strategic alliance to enhance Europe’s cyber and energy resilience by developing cutting-edge battery energy storage systems. The collaboration aims to introduce CyberSec BESS, a new generation of cyber-secure battery energy storage solutions tailored for the European market. With battery storage systems increasingly critical for supporting power grids and essential energy infrastructure, cybersecurity has become as crucial as performance and reliability.

The partnership was cemented with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), setting a framework for developing, certifying, and commercializing CyberSec BESS. This initiative was officially unveiled on June 25, 2026, at Intersolar Europe in Munich, a premier event focused on renewable energy, energy storage, and energy technologies. The project seeks to align with both current and future European Union cybersecurity regulations while enhancing the long-term resilience of critical energy systems.

CyberSec BESS aims to integrate European expertise in cybersecurity, system integration, and certification with global battery manufacturing capabilities. According to Martin Talian, Chief Corporate Solutions Officer at ESET, integrating cybersecurity from the outset in battery storage systems is essential for modern energy infrastructure. This initiative allows ESET to leverage its experience in safeguarding critical infrastructure and contribute to an energy sector ready to tackle current and emerging cyber threats.

Oliver Garaj, Managing Director of EVC Group, emphasized that resilient energy infrastructure requires a comprehensive systems approach rather than simply piecing together individual technologies. He highlighted that the partnership combines engineering expertise, advanced energy technologies, and stringent cybersecurity standards to deliver battery storage systems focused on security, transparency, operational reliability, and robust overall performance. These attributes are expected to gain importance as Europe’s energy sector continues to evolve.

Based on Frost Radar™: Endpoint Security, 2025 by Frost & Sullivan, ESET holds the position as the largest global cybersecurity provider headquartered in Europe. The company offers AI-driven cybersecurity solutions for businesses, individuals, and critical infrastructure across endpoint, cloud, and mobile environments, backed by advanced threat intelligence, encryption, multifactor authentication, and continuous security monitoring. Through collaboration with EVC Group, ESET aims to bolster Europe’s energy resilience and support the secure deployment of next-generation battery storage technologies.
