Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have committed to enhancing their cooperation in the justice sector, following discussions between Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and Saudi Justice Minister Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani in Ankara. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in judicial reforms, legal expertise, and digital justice initiatives, aligning with Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Both nations underscored the importance of developing robust legal frameworks and fostering cooperation to improve their justice systems. The talks highlighted the potential for increased official exchanges and direct collaboration between legal professionals, which are expected to bolster bilateral relations and advance the efficiency and modernity of justice systems in both countries.
Türkiye extended an offer to share its experiences in judicial digitalization through its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP). This includes sharing expertise in artificial intelligence-supported legal services, cybersecurity, alternative dispute resolution, and judicial cooperation. The Turkish justice system’s advancements in these areas could provide valuable insights for Saudi Arabia as it seeks to enhance its own legal infrastructure.
