As India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) forms a “dedicated and comprehensive” team to probe the Delhi blast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has offered his nation’s full support. The Israeli leader sent a message of condolence to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the attack, which left eight dead.
Netanyahu’s statement emphasized the “strong bond” between the two nations. “Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength,” he said, offering “deepest condolences” from the Israeli people to the families of the victims.
The Israeli Prime Minister praised the resilience of Indian society, linking it to Israel’s own struggles. “India and Israel are ancient civilisations that stand on eternal truths,” he said. “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls.”
The NIA’s new team will function under the supervision of senior officers and coordinate with other security units. The move came a day after the Ministry of Home Affairs formally handed over the investigation, citing a terror angle. Top sources suggest a Jaish-e-Mohammad module is the prime suspect.
The NIA team will investigate all angles, including “whether the explosion was intentional or accidental,” to uncover the broader network involved. This probe runs in parallel to the global messages of solidarity, including from Israel’s top leadership.
